Putrajaya

Every year, Merdeka Day is celebrated with more than just waving the flag high or making a parade through the streets. Regardless of ethnicity or religion, it is a moral obligation and shows pride in being a Malaysian. It's a moment for Malaysians to pause, think back, and honor the leaders of the past who gave their lives to bring about independence. It's a vibrant festival period for those from other countries. Merdeka Day is a national holiday in Malaysia, marked with much fanfare and celebration. Every year, the National Merdeka Day Parade is organized to honor this important day. In addition to artistically constructed floats based on the celebration's theme and the organizations' missions, there will be lively performances by dancers and police and military marching units. The entire country celebrates Malaysia's National Day. Putrajaya is the location of this year's National Day festivities.
