Malaysia Launches MyTourist Pass to Boost Sustainable Tourism and Public Transport Use in Kuala Lumpur

As Malaysia prepares for an influx of tourists, the government has launched the MyTourist Pass to encourage greater use of public transport in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley. This cost-effective pass, offered by RapidKL, provides unlimited access to various transit services including LRT, MRT, monorail, and buses. Priced affordably for both local and international visitors, the pass aims to enhance travel convenience, reduce reliance on private transport, and support sustainable tourism. With the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026, the MyTourist Pass is set to boost Malaysia’s tourism sector while benefiting local businesses by spreading tourism revenue more widely. This initiative is part of the country's ongoing efforts to modernize its public transport system and offer a more eco-friendly travel experience for visitors.
