YB Dr. Zaliha binti Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), officiated today the opening of the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Centre, the first of its kind established by a local authority (PBT) and government agency, as well as at TRX City Park.

The ESG Centre Kuala Lumpur is a brainchild of the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, reflecting DBKL’s commitment to global sustainability and supporting the ESG framework aspirations. This aligns with DBKL’s vision of transforming Kuala Lumpur into a sustainable city based on ESG principles, on par with other leading cities worldwide.

The primary objective of the ESG Centre Kuala Lumpur is to serve as a knowledge-sharing hub and information dissemination center regarding the ESG framework to all stakeholders in Kuala Lumpur. This initiative is crucial since the ESG framework is still relatively new to various stakeholders in the country.

The ESG Centre Kuala Lumpur also collaborates with the DBKL Institute (IDB) to provide technical and vocational education and training (TVET) related to sustainability for the public, government agencies, and interested private entities.

Additionally, the city-wide carbon footprint status for Kuala Lumpur will be displayed for public knowledge. This is a result of collaboration with the City Planning Department, utilizing the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management System (GIMS).
The ESG Centre Kuala Lumpur is located on Level 3, Plaza The Exchange TRX, Persiaran TRX, 55188 Kuala Lumpur, and is open for free to both local and international visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Present at the ceremony were YBhg. Datuk Seri PMgr Sr Hj. Kamarulzaman bin Mat Salleh, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, and YBhg. Dato’ Azmar Talib, CEO of TRX City Sdn. Bhd.
