Taman Tugu

Urban forest conservation park
History
This is a remarkable urban regeneration project.
Taman Tugu was once a neglected, overgrown plot of land behind the National Monument (Tugu Negara). It has been transformed into a 66-acre urban forest park. Over 4,000 trees native to Malaysian rainforests have been planted and preserved here. It is now a non-profit trust dedicated to conservation, education, and recreation.
