History

Built in 1863, Masjid India is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur.

It was founded by the Indian Muslim community, who were predominantly traders and merchants in the area. The mosque has undergone several renovations, with the current structure reflecting a blend of South Indian and Moghul architectural styles. The surrounding area, also known as Masjid India, has become a bustling commercial district famous for its textile shops, food stalls, and vibrant bazaars.
