Jao Tim

Retro-inspired café and arts space

History

Housed in a beautifully restored pre-war shophouse from 1910, Jao Tim was once known as the "Famous Hotel."

The name "Jao Tim" is the Cantonese pronunciation of the hotel's Chinese name (酒店). Today, it has been reborn as a multi-purpose creative and event space. It retains much of its old-world charm, with original floor tiles and window frames. Jao Tim hosts a variety of events, including live jazz performances, art workshops, and flea markets, making it a vital hub for KL's creative community.
