WawaFish
History
Located in the heart of Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur, Wawafish introduces a fresh take on dining with authentic Guizhou cuisine and innovative housemade drip wines—served from lunch well into the night.
The space blends light wooden décor with natural lighting and raw textures, creating a serene two-storey enclave above the bustling street below—a perfect setting for enjoying rich, homestyle dishes.
The menu celebrates the heritage of its owners—Elmo and his wife, who are from the Miao minority in southern China. Signature items include Rice Noodles with Beef (available in mala-spicy or tangy tomato broth), Popping Tofu, and Spiced Drumettes—all bursting with authentic Guizhou flavour.
To drink, the standout is their “drip wine” — a bottled cocktail infused with spices, herbs, or fresh ingredients. Notables include the Flower Mantis (whiskey with elderflower and bitter gourd) and the Crispy Orange No. 1 (a citrusy whiskey sour twist), alongside a range of non-alcoholic options.
