Merchant's Lane
History
Merchant’s Lane is a hidden gem café located above a shophouse in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur. Once an abandoned brothel, the space was transformed in 2015 by founder Ken Ho into a vibrant spot that blends Chinatown’s heritage with modern charm.
With skylit ceilings, tropical greenery, and colourful vintage décor, the café offers an Instagram-worthy backdrop for its creative fusion menu—combining Malaysian flavours with a Western twist. Signature dishes include the Nasi Lemak Pancake and Italian Chow Mien, alongside refreshing drinks like Rose Honey Milk.
More than just a café, Merchant’s Lane has become a symbol of Chinatown’s revival—bringing people together to enjoy good food, culture, and community in the heart of KL.
