When World War II reached Malaya, the cathedral's beautiful stained-glass windows were carefully removed to protect them from bombing. The war ended—but the glass never came back.

Built in 1894, this is the oldest Anglican church in the region, and its pipe organ was built by Henry Willis, the same craftsman behind the original Grand Organ of London's Royal Albert Hall.
