Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau

The one-stop info centre for KL Tourism housed in a historical building

History

Constructed in 1903, Lot 11, Jalan Tangsi, functioned as an extension to Loke Hall located at 10, Barrack Road. From 1908 until after World War II, it was home to the Empire Hotel, later becoming the Peninsular Hotel. The Ministry of Tourism and Culture invested approximately RM7 million in renovations. Although the interior suffered fire damage, the exterior façade was maintained. The office commenced operations in November 2015.

Significance

The Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau, also known as 11 Tangsi, serves as the tourist office for Kuala Lumpur. This office supports the development of tourism products and infrastructure within the city. It is located in a historic building at Lot 11, Jalan Tangsi, which is why it is named 11 Tangsi.
