History
This magnificent Moghul-India inspired building was constructed in 1898 to meet the printing needs of the British Malaya Administration. Its cast iron columns and trusses supported a large interior for printing press machines. Government reports, official books, and train tickets were printed here. The gallery overlooks the flagpole nearby, with century-old raintrees guarding its doors.
