Kolam Biru River of Life

A mesmerising installation on Klang River that lights up blue at night

Official Website

History

The Klang River used to be something Kuala Lumpur turned its back on polluted, flood-prone, easy to ignore. In 2011, an RM4.4 billion project set out to fix that across 781 hectares of the city, and Kolam Biru is one of its most photographed results: a stretch of river that glows electric blue after dark, proof that a river a city gave up on can still become something people come specifically to see.

Significance

A testament to KL's commitment to urban renewal, transforming the once-polluted birthplace of the city into a vibrant public space.

Photo Spot Ideas

Tip: Best photographed after sunset when the electric blue lights and mist create a cinematic atmosphere.
